DECORAH, Iowa - The Coe College women's tennis team dropped its first conference match of the season on Tuesday afternoon, falling 8-1 to Luther College to move to 2-1 in A-R-C play. The Kohawks lost the opening three matches of the contest, getting swept by the Norse in doubles action. Coe's third pairing of Courtney Carstensen and Chloe Palmer pushed their opponents to the limit, suffering a narrow 8-5 defeat despite a strong effort. The Norse continued to assert their dominance in the singles play, winning five of six matches en route to the victory. Maddie Schultz picked up the lone win for the Koahwks in singles, earning a come-from-behind win at number one to salvage a point for her team. 
 
Up next: Coe returns to competition this weekend for a pair of individual tournaments, competing in the ITA Regional Championships and the ITA Alternative Tournament on Friday, September 22 and Saturday, September 23.
