CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College volleyball team won its A-R-C home opener on Friday evening at Kohawk Arena, cruising to a 3-0 victory over Wartburg College to move to 2-0 in league play. The Kohawks posted their second-highest hitting percentage of the season in the win, hitting .317 with just 12 errors in three periods.
Gracie Urbatsch and
Grace Lueken combined as Coe's offensive leaders, registering 15 and 11 kills each to lead the team. Urbatsch's 15 kills mark her season high and were just one shy of tying her personal-best set back in 2021. Lueken reached double-figures for the seventh time in 2023 and was one kill away from tying her season-best total.

GAME FACTS
- Coe started out with its best offensive set of the match, hitting .406 in the opener to grab a 25-16 victory. Wartburg hit just .103 and committed seven attacking errors as it fell behind early. The teams were hard to separate in the second set, each hitting around .250 but Coe outlasted Wartburg, escaping with a 25-21 win to make it 2-0. The Kohawks closed the deal in the third set, earning their second-straight A-R-C sweep thanks to a 25-19 win. Coe hit .297 in the frame and limited Wartburg to just .061.
Up next: Coe is back in action tomorrow at Kohawk Arena for a pair of non-conference matches against Grinnell College and UW-Eau Claire at 12 PM and 2 PM respectively.
