MANKATO, Minn. - The Coe College women's track & field team competed for the first time in 2024 on Friday and Saturday, taking part in the Mark Schuck Open hosted by Minnesota State. The Kohawk women began the season with a strong performance, turning in numerous top-ten finishes and personal best marks throughout the competition.
Lily Mayo, Sangai Dukuly and
Tracy Allen each secured individual top-ten finishes, joining the Kohawk DMR team of
Crystal Burke, Alexis Vaughn, Dukuly and Mayo that finished fourth. Dukuly was the highest individual Kohawk finisher, placing fourth in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 10.97m. Mayo and Allen were the final two Kohawk individual top-ten finishers, taking tenth in the 800m and weight throw. Allen set a new personal best mark in the weight throw, recording a throw of 15.43m. Coe's DMR team of Burke, Dukuly, Vaughn and Mayo rounded out the top-ten finishes for the squad, taking fourth with a time of 13:44.08.
Tink Mitchell, Natalie Reifsteck, Alondra Mathena and Burke all set personal bests on the day, bringing the team's total to five for the competition.
