CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The #23 Coe College men's basketball team dropped an A-R-C contest to Central College on Saturday afternoon at Kohawk Arena, falling 94-75 to the Dutch. Central was on fire from the opening whistle, shooting a season-best 63.2 percent from the floor while missing just nine two-point field goals for the contest. The Kohawks led 24-23 with 8:49 left in the first half before shooting just 36 percent in the time remaining. Coe struggled on the offensive end of the floor, shooting 38.4 percent from the floor and 23.3 percent from deep, the second-lowest marks of its season.
Cooper Nailor scored a team-high 16 points, going 4-of-5 from deep while adding three assists and two boards.
TJ Schnurr also turned in a double-digit performance, finishing with 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Cael Schmitt was the final Kohawk to eclipse double figures, scoring 11 points with four assists and a pair of boards.

- Coe had a strong start in the contest, opening with nine of the first 13 points as Bennett Sherry had two early buckets. Central controlled the following two minutes, ripping off a dominant 10-2 stretch as the Dutch hit five of their next six field goals. Coe regained the momentum with another quick run, getting eight of the next nine points to take a 19-15 lead with 12:01 left in the half. The visitors came to life over the following five minutes, outscoring Coe 14-5 as forward Josh Van Gorp scored 12 to lead the stretch. The teams traded for a four-minute stretch but the Dutch closed the half with a spark, scoring nine unanswered points to take a 44-30 lead into the break. Central slowly built upon its lead in the opening minutes of the second half, edging Coe 14-10 to push the lead to 18 six minutes in. The Dutch managed the remaining moments of the contest, answering every Coe charge with a bucket of their own, shooting 9-of-13 in the final 11:35 to secure the win.
