CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's tennis team picked up a pair of A-R-C victories on Friday and Saturday to end the Fall season, defeating Simpson 7-0 on Friday and Central 5-2 on Saturday. The Kohawks eased past the Storm in the first match of the weekend, sweeping doubles competition before six straight-set victories in singles.
Sophia Fain highlighted the singles victories against the Storm, claiming a dominant 6-0, 6-0 decision at number one singles after a 6-1 decision with
Alice Tysoe at the top doubles position. The Kohawks wrapped up the Fall season with another victory on Saturday, defeating Central 5-2 in Pella. The visitors claimed all three matches in doubles, getting wins from
Alli Hagness / Addison Leasure, Fain / Tysoe and
Jaden Fuqua / Cosette Gaines to go up 1-0. Fain, Leasure, Hagness and Tysoe wrapped up the win in singles play, completing the unbeaten weekend with four straight-set wins.
