CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Fifth-year senior
Lewis Kleman secured the first all-conference medal for the Coe College men's cross country program in over 10 years on Saturday afternoon at the A-R-C Cross Country Championships, pacing the team with a 13th-place finish in the loaded field. Kleman's time of 25:06.0 was less than eight seconds behind the top-10 and was seconds short of his personal best time in the 8K. Kleman is the first Coe male to earn all-conference honors since the 2012 season when Andrew Dewar finished sixth at the conference meet.
Jared Thoma was Coe's next runner across the line, finishing 99th with a time of 27:04.8.
Trent Allen joined the sub-28 club with Thoma and Kleman as the third Kohawk to finish, placing 116th with a personal-best mark of 27:28.5.
Gad Kanago and
Philip Marerro rounded out Coe's top five placers, taking 145th and 195th to conclude the team scoring.
