ORLANDO, Fl. - The Coe College baseball team picked up an 11-4 win over Ripon College on Wednesday afternoon in the fifth game of its Florida Spring Break trip. The Kohawk offense pounded out 17 hits in the victory, recording seven extra-base hits including three home runs. The scoring started in the second for Coe which was the visitors on the scoreboard, putting a four spot up thanks to RBI from
Jack Allison,
Reid Rausch, C.J. Johnson and
Mitchell Eckardt. Starting pitcher
Caden Richards worked three strong innings, allowing just one run and three hits in 11 batters. Ripon pulled closer with a single run in the fifth but Coe scored in each of the final four innings to build insurance. Coe got all three homers during the stretch with
Jon Wille,
Creighton Kreshel and
Kevin Lamb delivering round-trippers in the victory.

- The Kohawks pushed four across in the second after failing to capitalize on a pair of first-inning singles. Allison began the scoring with an RBI double just two batters in, driving home Ryan Thoreson. Rausch and Johnson then went back-to-back with RBI knocks, driving home the second and third runs of the game with a single and double respectively. Eckardt picked up the final RBI of the frame with a productive fly out to center, making it 4-0 after the top of the second. Ripon got single runs in their second and fifth innings, hitting a solo homer early before at two-out single in the fifth. Rausch immediately responded with a two-out RBI of his own in the bottom of the frame, restoring a three-run advantage. Wille hit a homer for the second time in three games in the following inning, driving a two-run blast to left field. Johnson secured another RBI in the eighth with a sac-fly to right, giving Coe its eighth run of the game. The Kohawks ended their scoring in the ninth with two more long balls, getting a two-run shot from Kreshel and a solo bomb from Lamb to make it 11-3. Coe's relief trio of Michael Bonner, Trevor Morse and Evan Bender did well in the final four innings of the game, combining to allow just seven hits and three earned runs while striking out five hitters.
