CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's track and field team celebrated its annual home meet in style on Wednesday afternoon, claiming the team title at the Rittgers Invite at Clark Field. Coe topped the team leaderboard with 144 points, finishing nearly 50 points ahead of second-place Augustana. The Kohawk's day was highlighted by five first-place finishes as
Isaiah Morgan, Lewis Kleman, Josh Peters, Jared Thoma and the 4x400 relay team of
Isaiah Jakel, Robert Hansen, Cole Kirkham and
Andrew Livaudais claimed top marks. Morgan won the 100m with a time of 11.31 before Kleman topped the 800m with a new personal-best mark of 1:55.66.
Josh Peters added another individual title for Coe in the 200m, finishing first with a time of 22.89. Thoma later followed with a victory in the 3000m, laying down a mark of 9:06.34 to pace the field. Jakel, Hansen, Kirkham and Livaudais ended the evening with one final first-place finish, taking the top spot in the 4x400 relay.
Chris Baker picked up a pair of second-place finishes in the field events, placing runner-up in the hammer and discus.
