KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Coe College women's tennis team opened its 2024 season with an individual tournament at Truman State. Nine Kohawks were in action, playing a mixture of singles and doubles competitions. Sophia Fain was undefeated in the top singles flight, picking up a 7-5, 6-1 victory over an opponent from Truman State and a 6-2, 6-0 win over Madi Whalen of Central. Addison Leasure also posted a pair of wins with a 6-1, 6-1 decision over Jenna Mahoney of Central and a 6-1, 6-2 win over an opponent from TSU in the second flight. Carlie Miller was the final unbeaten player in singles, going 2-0 in the fifth flight with a tiebreaker victory over Lauren Gano of Central and a 7-5, 6-2 win over a Truman State opponent.
