CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Coe College Women's Tennis player Sophia Fain became the third player in program history to earn three conference Most Valuable Player of the Year Awards on Thursday, earning the league's MVP honor after another standout season. The Waterloo native went 7-0 in conference matches at number one singles, winning six in straight sets. Fain was also 6-0 in doubles matches during the A-R-C schedule, going 5-0 at number three and 1-0 at number two. She joins former Kohawk greats, Maddie Schultz and Tai Lucero, as three-time MVP winners. Fellow teammates Alli Hagness, Aisha Gurung, Addison Leasure and Alice Tysoe joined Fain on both the all-conference singles and doubles team while Cosette Gaines was selected to the honorable mention team. The six Kohawks combined to give Coe the most selections across the league, highlighting the dominant season that resulted in the program's first A-R-C regular season title since 2015-16.
