CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's tennis team shut out American Rivers Conference foe Loras College Wednesday afternoon, defeating the Duhawks 7-0 in the team's final home match of the fall season. The Kohawks raced out to an early 1-0 lead after a dominant display in doubles, getting a trio of 6-1 victories from Sophia Fain / Alice Tysoe, Addison Leasure / Maria Bello Escobar and Cosette Gaines / Alli Hagness. Coe's dominance carried over into singles with all six matches ending in straight sets. Fain (#1), Leasure (#2), Tysoe (#4), Bello Escobar (#5) and Gaines (#6) all went on to win their second matches of the afternoon in the singles competition while Aisha Gurung stepped into the three spot for a shutout of her own, winning 6-0, 6-0.
