STORM LAKE, Iowa – The Coe College women's tennis team capped off its fall dual meet schedule Friday, taking down Buena Vista and Nebraska Wesleyan with a pair of 7-0 victories on the road. The Kohawks started the day in Storm Lake with a 2-1 decision in doubles, getting wins from
Sophia Fain / Alice Tysoe and
Cosette Gaines / Maria Bello Escobar at the top two spots. Coe swept the singles competition in style with six straight sets victories. Fain, Tysoe and Bello Escobar all picked up their second wins of the match while
Addison Leasure, Giana Akins and
Alexa Cohen stepped in for their first wins of the contest. Coe's second match of the day started with a sweep in doubles as Leasure /
Aisha Gurung, Fain / Tysoe and Gaines / Bello Escobar blanked the Prairie Wolves for an early 1-0 lead. Singles proved to be more dominance from the Kohawks, winning all six matches in straight sets. Fain, Leasure, Gurung, Tysoe and Bello Escobar grabbed their second wins of the match in singles and Gaines grabbed her first singles win of the day.
