PELLA, Iowa – The Coe College wrestling team opened its 2025-26 dual season on the road at Central, falling 18-17 to the Dutch in an American Rivers Conference dual. The Kohawks took the opening match as second-ranked
Brayden Parke began his season with an 8-0 major decision. Central responded with a first-period pin at 133 and posted three straight decisions to take control of the match after five bouts.
Bo Koedam opened his collegiate career with a strong 13-6 decision at 165 to start a winning stretch for the Kohawks as
Anthony Montez and
Kyler Scranton followed with a major and a decision to make it 15-14. The Dutch picked up a crucial victory at 197 to reestablish a four-point lead setting the stage for the heavyweight bout.
Wyatt Smith claimed the victory at 285 pounds with a 2-0 decision but could not find the bonus point victory that Coe needed for the team dual win.
