ORLANDO, Fl. – The Coe College baseball team won its second straight game Monday morning, defeating MSOE 8-2. The Kohawks, who improved to 5-2 on the year, got a strong pitching effort from
Ethan O'Donnell and RBI from six different players to capture the victory. O'Donnell earned his first win of the season, going 5.2 innings while allowing three hits and two runs. The North Liberty native struck out seven and was backed up by his offense which scored four runs in the opening four innings. MSOE cut the lead to two in the sixth inning but RBI walks from
Jack Allison and
Ryan Thoreson made it 6-2 before a sac-fly from
Evan deValy to go up 7-2.
Jake Brosius capped off the scoring in the eighth with a solo shot, his second homer in as many days.

- The Kohawks opened the scoring in the first, using three-straight free passes to load the bases. A double play groundout brought home the first run of the game before an inning-ending strikeout got the Raiders out of the jam. Mitchell Eckardt made it 2-0 with a two-out single in the second before Jon Wille drew a bases-loaded walk to take a 3-0 lead. Ryan Brosius scored in the fourth inning with two outs on a wild pitch after singling and stealing second earlier in the frame. MSOE cut the lead in half in the bottom of the sixth, using a two-out double to make it 4-2 and force O'Donnell from the game. Coe regained a comfortable lead in the top of the seventh inning, loading the bases with one out for Allison who took a free pass for 5-2. Thoreson then made it 6-2 with another walk before deVally made it 7-2 with a sacrifice fly. Brosius capped off the second straight win in style in the eighth, delivering a solo shot for 8-2.
