ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Coe College men's track and field team competed at Augustana's Meet of Champions Thursday and Friday, one of the premiere annual track & field competitions featuring top teams from across the region. Coe's men were led by Chris Baker who claimed a point-scoring finish in the Hammer Throw with a huck of 55.81m. Baker also finished 14th in the discus with a season-best toss of 44.45, rounding out his solid performances for the weekend. Griffin Coates and Tomas Bueso also picked up a pair of top 30 finishes for the Kohawks in field events, placing 30th in the Javelin and Shot Put respectively. On the track, Davian Santiago had two top-30 finishes in the 110m Hurdles (personal best) and the 400m Hurdles while Talon Sargent claimed a 23rd place finish in the 400m with a new personal best time. Jared Thoma also threw down a personal record time in the 10000m, finishing 31st with a mark of 33:54.97. A pair of relay squads finished 13th for Coe as Joshua Peters, Isaiah Morgan, Jabari Woodbury and Talon Sargent ran the 4x100 in 43.42 while Jabari Woodbury, Talon Sargent, Ryan Hines and Isaiah Jakel finished the 4x400 in 3:31.63.
