CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College men's track and field team welcomed teams to Clark Field Wednesday afternoon for its annual home meet, the Forest Rittgers Invitational.
Talon Sargent, Tomas Bueso, Chris Baker and Coe's 4x400 relay team of
Jabari Woodbury, Isaiah Jakel, Ryan Hines and Sargent were the pace-setters for the Kohawks, claiming victories on the day. Sargent was Coe's first event winner with a first-place finish in the 100m, finishing in 10.98 to top the podium. Baker claimed a first-place finish in the hammer throw, recording a field-best toss of 55.06m to take the top spot. Bueso joined Baker with a field victory, claiming a win in the shot put with a toss of 13.24m. Woodbury, Jakel, Hines and Sargent polished off the meet with a victory in the 4x400, placing first with a time of 3:38.89.
Davian Santiago (4th, 110m Hurdles), Jakel (3rd, 800m), Sargent (2nd, 200m),
Gad Kanago (5th, 3000m), Baker (2nd, Discus) and
Griffin Coates (2nd, Javelin) rounded out Coe's top finishes for the remainder of the event.
