CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's track and field team hosted its annual home meet Wednesday afternoon at Clark Field for the Rittgers Invitational. The Kohawk women picked up three event victories during the competition, led by
Sangai Dukuly, Lily Mayo and the 4x400 relay squad made up of
Josie Gehrke, Taiy Pruett, Dukuly and
Emily Andrade. Dukuly started the meet with a victory in the 200m, posting a time of 27.29 to pace the field. Mayo followed with a win in the long-distance race, finishing the 3000m in 11:02.95 for first place. Gehrke, Pruett, Dukuly and Andrade capped off the meet with a win in the final event of the evening, finishing in 4:07.81 to claim the top spot. Other top finishes on the track from the team included a second-place finish in the triple jump from Dukuly and a fourth-place finish in the 800m for
Roz Hoefflin. In the field events,
Piper Boggs led Coe in the Hammer and Javelin, placing seventh and fifth respectively while
Alondra Mathena finished sixth in the discus.
