CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's tennis team handled business in its opening match of the 2025 American Rivers Conference Women's Tennis Automatic Qualifier tournament, defeating the sixth-seeded Loras College Duhawks 4-0 at Clark Racquet Center. The win, which sends the Kohawks back to the conference title match for the fourth consecutive season, featured dominance from the start. Coe jumped ahead with a decision in doubles, getting a match-opening victory from Sophia Fain / Alice Tysoe at number two before Cosette Gaines / Maddie Schultz secured the point with a 7-6 win at number three. Schultz and Carlie Miller made quick work of their opponents in singles at number three and six, giving Coe two more team points to ride the early momentum. Alli Hagness finished the match at the number five spot, taking out her opponent 6-1, 6-1 to cap off the sweep. The Kohawks advance to Saturday's A-R-C tournament championship where they will face Luther in Decorah at 1 PM.
