DECORAH, Iowa – The Coe College women's tennis team suffered a narrow 4-3 defeat at Luther College Saturday morning in the team's 2025 American Rivers Conference opener. Luther took the lead after doubles, edging the Kohawks at the number one and number three spots to go in front 1-0. Sophia Fain and Alli Hagness teamed up for Coe's lone victory in the early portion of the match, securing a 6-3 decision at number two. The Norse managed to win an additional three matches in singles, splitting the matches with the Kohawks as the hosts won at number three, four and six. Fain, Addison Leasure and Hagness were Coe's winners in singles, each winning in straight sets in spite of the defeat.
