Miller, a member of the Kohawk staff since January of 2025, helping Coe reach the NCAA playoffs for the third straight season last fall. Miller replaces Cody Baethke who departed the program for other professional opportunities following the end of the season.

"Coach Miller has been an integral part of our program and our success this past season, said Staker. "He is an outstanding teacher and motivator who leads with honesty, accountability, and toughness. His ability to build strong relationships with our student-athletes and develop them on and off the field makes him the right person to lead our defense. I am confident our unit will continue to grow and compete at a high level under his leadership."

Reid earned his Bachelor of Arts in Movement and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Iowa in 2018 and completed his Masters of Business Administration from Abilene Christian University in July 2024. His academic focus has consistently aligned with his professional career, giving him a strong foundation in both sports science and business management.

"I am truly excited and humbled for the opportunity to step into this role," said Miller. "I want to thank Coach Staker for his belief in me to lead the Kohawk defense and what that means. I look forward to embracing this group and getting to work immediately!"

In addition to his academic credentials, Reid holds several prestigious certifications, including the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC), and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications, ensuring that he is well-equipped to support the safety and performance of athletes under his guidance.

Reid's coaching experience spans several roles and institutions. Before joining Northwest Missouri State University, he served as a Graduate Assistant Football Coach for the Defensive Line and a Sports Performance Coach for football at the University of Notre Dame. His experience also includes a role as the Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning at Abilene Christian University, where he played a key role in football athlete development, overseeing speed, power, and strength programs, as well as managing nutrition and readiness tracking through advanced GPS technology.

Previously, Reid worked as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Abilene Christian University, where he led training efforts for incoming freshman football players and coordinated nutrition programs. His expertise also extends to his work as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, where he managed athletic development for multiple sports, including Softball, Women's Tennis, and Golf.

Reid's earlier experience includes internships at top institutions like the University of Iowa and the University of Missouri, where he assisted in implementing training programs for Olympic sports and football, gaining valuable insights into athlete development and performance monitoring through state-of-the-art technologies.

Before transitioning into coaching, Reid was a collegiate athlete, having signed with Missouri Western in 2014 and played one season at Iowa Western Community College in 2015.
