- The Kohawks took the lead early in the first half when Preuss finished off a deflected shot from Dessa Snyder just in front of goal. Coe doubled the lead quickly when a perfectly weighted ball from Manning found Schwartz, who beat a defender and slotted past an onrushing keeper for 2-0. The hosts made it 3-0 later in the period as Snyder and Preuss combined to spring Manning into the box, who finished with a sharp left-footed finish. The Kohawk offense made it 4-0 before the halftime whistle, with Ireland firing a low cross into the box that Boche flicked over the keeper's head.
