Bowman’s career-high 35 points leads Men’s Basketball past Luther

DECORAH, Iowa — The Coe College men's basketball team picked up an American Rivers Conference road win Wednesday evening at Luther College, defeating the Norse 76-55. Kohawk junior Jackson Bowman registered a career-best performance in the victory, scoring a personal-high 35 points as he shot 15-of-19 from the floor and 4-of-5 from deep. Bowman and the Kohawks were on point from the opening whistle as the Cedar Rapids native sparked a 28-9 run to start the game with a 3 on Coe's first offensive possession. Luther slowly chipped away at the deficit before the end of the half, pulling within 15 at the break as the hosts trailed 39-24. Bowman, who had 17 points in the first half, didn't let up in the second. He poured in 13 points in the opening 12 minutes and helped the Kohawks extend the advantage to 63-44 with 7:53 to play. The Norse made one final push with a 9-3 run to pull within 13 but a game-sealing jumper from Bowman gave him 35 for the night and ensured Coe the win. Bowman totaled 35 points and five rebounds and was joined in double-digits by Deuce Walters (11) and Kanyon Bryte (10), with the latter pulling down a team-high nine boards.
