CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College men's tennis team continued its 2026 season Saturday with a pair of non-conference matches at the Clark Racquet Center, defeating Cornell 7-0 in a Bremner Cup battle before cruising to a 6-1 victory over the University of Wisconsin La Crosse. Coe opened the day with a dominant showing against its local rival, shutting out the Rams to earn the Bremner point in style. The Kohawks began with a sweep in doubles as
Bryton Short / Jumpei Kasai, Ivan Burt-Smith / Joshua Tiemann and
Reed Kruger / Nathaniel Miller handled business to claim the team point. Coe's six singles players ensured the perfect outcome in the second session, winning all matches in straight sets as
Anthony Schulte, Tiemann, Kasai, Kruger, Miller and
Kohen Juelfs picked up wins. The Kohawk men stayed hot in the second match of the day, starting with a sweep of doubles as Short / Kasai,
Daniel Rohlman / Schulte and Burt-Smith / Tiemann took out their opponents for a 1-0 lead. Five Kohawks proceeded to clinch the match in singles with Schule, Tiemann, Short and Rohlman earning their second wins of the match while
Grant Idoux stepped in at number six for his first victory of the day.
