CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College Men's Tennis team picked up a pair of American Rivers Conference victories on Saturday at Clark Racquet Center, sweeping Central and Simpson 7-0. The Kohawks used all 12 players in the lineups for the matches, starting the day with an easy 3-0 sweep in doubles against the Dutch.
Jumpei Kasai / Bryton Short, Daniel Rohlman / Anthony Schulte, and
Ivan Burt-Smith / Joshua Tiemann handled business in the initial competition, winning 6-1, 6-1, and 6-4, respectively. Singles brought more domination from the Kohawks as Schulte, Tiemann, Short, Rohlman,
Luke Doig, and Kasai finished off the victory with six straight-set wins. Coe's lineup looked different in the second match, but it still brought the same result with
Grant Idoux / Burt-Smith,
Reed Kruger / Nathaniel Miller, and
Kohen Juelfs / Archie Loehr dominating the doubles matches. All six players remained in the lineup to polish off the match, combining to drop just eight games across the singles matches.
