CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Coe College women's track and field team hosted its annual home meet earlier this week, welcoming teams to the Clark Track for the Forest Rittgers Invitational. The Koahwks celebrated 21 PR and season bests during the event and eight top-eight finishes.
Roz Hoefflin led the team with a second-place effort in the 800m with a massive seven-second PR.
Lily Mayo was next with a top-three finish in the 1500m, posting a season-best mark that was under a second behind second place.
Emily Andrade, Magdalynne Preuss, Mayo, and
Brieannah James then combined in the 4x400 relay, claiming the team title with a season-best performance.
Piper Boggs led Coe's efforts on the field, placing in the top eight in the javelin and hammer. She placed fourth in the javelin and seventh in the hammer with a new personal record toss of 41.33m.
Alexandria Tavis and
Denise Smith also set personal records on the field with top-eight finishes in the javelin.
Alondra Mathena polished off a strong day for the Kohawks with a PR in the hammer by nearly four feet.
