CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - On Friday, September 18th the Kohawk volleyball team hosted the Mable Lee Invitational and would lose their first match to Lakeland University in three straight sets. The first set of the match would start out with both teams trading points; the set being tied 8-8. Lakeland wouldn't give up the lead for the first set, but Coe would keep the set close. The set would finish in extras as the Muskies would win the set 27-25. The second set would start much better for the Kohawks as they would jump to an early 7-2 lead. A Lakeland timeout would help to reverse the deficit and eventually get them the lead late in the set. A string of late errors cost the Kohawks as they would lose the second set 25-22. The Kohawks would fall to an early 7-1 deficit in the third set and would keep it close, but they were unable to make a comeback. Coe was reduced .153 hitting percentage in 98 total attacks. Coe's Brooke Sullivan led the team with 10 kills; Lexi Hammer led the team with 20 assists. As a team, 22 attacking errors would ultimately be their downfall as the Muskies would sweep the Kohawks.

LAKELAND 3 - COE 0
- In the first set, the Kohawks would get kills from five different players, Tessa Casebolt. Brooke Sullivan, Najolie Price, Jasmine Shields, and Mahri Kaczmeric would all contribute to the first seven Kohawk points. Overall, the Kohawks would struggle in their attack as they would post a .190 hit percentage in the first set. Coe would keep the scored tied until the set was 10 all, and then the Muskies pulled away. Their lead would jump to three and then the Kohawks would come back and tie the game once again at 16-16. Coe would force the Muskies into extra point and the set would end 27-25
- Coe would find some momentum in the second set and jumped out to a 7-2 lead off the back of kills from Price, Kaczmeric, and an ace from Elise Blaesing. Lakeland would start to eat away at the Coe lead and would get the game back to 12-12. The match would go back and forth but would be taken by Lakeland and would give them the two sets to none advantage.
- In the final set, the Muskies would be the team to jump out to an early lead as they got up 9-2 to start the set. The early lead would be insurmountable for the Kohawks as they would not be able to get back into the game to force a fourth set. Lakeland would finish off the Kohawks with a final score of 25-18 and would take the final set.
