STORM LAKE, Iowa – The Coe College men's golf team claimed the team title at the Buena Vista University Invite over the weekend, finishing the tournament with a second-round team score of 302 to finish three strokes ahead of the field. Sophomore
Tyler Santi won his second tournament of the season individually, claiming medalist honors after posting a second-round 75 to pair with his opening round 69. Santi made five bogeys on his opening nine on Sunday but steadied the ship toward the back of his round, making two birdies in his last six holes to finish one shot ahead of second place.
Kael Smith followed up a strong opening round with Coe's best round-two score, shooting three-over 74 with a pair of birdies to place T5.
Tommy Kulesza was the third Kohawk to finish inside the top 10 individually, placing ninth overall as he matched Santi with a second-round 75 on Sunday.
Caden Weddingfeld rounded out the scoring for Coe in round two, shooting 78 that featured a one-under back nine to steady Coe's team score.
C. Reece Breitenbach, Brady Yergens and
Jackson Pipho concluded Coe's participation on Sunday, shooting rounds of 80, 84 and 86 respectively.
