STEVENS POINT, Wisc. – The Coe College women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 defeat on Saturday afternoon on the road, dropping a non-conference matchup with the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Coe and Stevens Point were scoreless across the first 25 minutes of action but the hosts managed to take the lead in the 26th minute and never looked back. The Pointers outshot Coe 19-0 in the first half, forcing seven saves from
Cecillie Monroe. Coe's attack fought back in the second with seven shots in the period and two on target, but an early insurance goal in the period gave the Pointers enough of a cushion to see out the win.

- Stevens Point was on the front foot in the first half, tallying 10 shots in the first phase before scoring the opener. The Pointers tried for more before the end of the half, registering a few more chances that Monroe was able to save. UWSP doubled the lead and put the game away early in the second, hitting the woodwork to set up a rebounded effort that made it 2-0. Magdalynne Preuss and Dessa Snyder did force a pair of saves in the final 40-plus minutes of the half, but neither Kohawk attacker could find the back of the net.
