Coach Walter designs and implements the strength and conditioning programs for teams such as tennis, basketball, football, baseball, softball, soccer, swimming & diving, wrestling, and volleyball. He is an instructor for courses such as Methods of Teaching Strength Training and Conditioning, Program Design, Advanced Weight Training, and Movement Training. In addition, he designs and implements nutritional plans for athletes, the Intern Development Program for aspiring strength and conditioning coaches, schedules staff to work front desk, and fitness center desk.

While at Coe, Coach Walter was a summer strength and conditioning intern for the Auburn University Football Team. He helped with the implementation of the Strength and Conditioning program, supervised lifting groups, speed and conditioning training, and the weight room.

Before coming to Coe, Coach Walter was a University of Iowa Football Strength and Conditioning Intern in 2009. Walter was able to work with their staff to teach the squat and hang clean progression, in addition to, linear and lateral movement progressions. He also had similar responsibilities with Auburn while utilizing video to help athletes movements.

COACH WALTER'S PHILOSOPHY:
“As a strength and conditioning coach it is my job to develop our student athletes physical and mental abilities in a way that will allow them to excel in their particular sport. This requires me to take a close look at the movement patterns and physical demands of their sport. Using that information I will use three dimensional, multi-joint, ground based movement and resistance training techniques that most directly relate to their needs as an athlete. It is the eventual goal to improve our athlete’s ability to move efficiently with speed/power in a controlled manner. During this process I will make sure that the risk of training does not outweigh the reward.”
