Lee Owen was named an assistant coach for the Coe College men's soccer team starting in the fall of 2018. Owen is 2018 graduate of Amherst College from Hastings-on-Hudson, New York. 

As an NCAA Division III student-athlete at Amherst, Owen was a keeper for the nationally-ranked men's soccer program. In his four years, Owen and the Mammoth's were 61-7-13, while also being a part of Amherst's first National Championship in 2015. The Mammoths also won the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) championship in 2016 and appeared in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament each of the last four years.

As the starting keeper his junior year, Owen had a record of 17-2-2 with a career .843 save percentage. Owen led Amherst to the top of the NESCAC and a conference tournament title in 2016, helping Amherst secure a first-round bye in the 2016 NCAA Tournament.

Owen majored in black studies and was named to the NESCAC All-Academic Team three-straight years.
