CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College swimming and diving team opened the season with a dual-meet victory over Loras on Friday evening at the Coe Natatorium. The Kohawks won the dual 134-59.
Coe won 19 of 24 swimming events and had 10 individuals who won multiple events during the evening, including Liberal Arts Championship record-holder, Darby Manternach. Manternach won the women's 100 freestyle and the 4x400 freestyle relay. The Kohawks' freshmen had big nights including Luke Baldwin who won three events, including the men's 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke. He was also apart of the winning men's 4x200 medley relay team. Freshman Lauren Pio also earned wins in three events, in the women's 200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, and as a member of the Kohawks' 4x400 freestyle relay team.
