CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Coe College women's volleyball team fell to Nebraska Wesleyan in four sets on Friday evening in Kohawk Arena. The loss drops Coe to 13-17 overall and 3-3 in the A-R-C.
Coe fell behind in the match as NWU won the opening set 25-20 behind 14 kills. The Kohawks responded in the second set with a 25-20 victory to even the match. Coe had 13 kills in the set while hitting .167. The back-and-forth action continued in the third set as the Prairie Wolves retook the lead with a 25-23 victory. Trailing 23-21 late in the third set, NWU ripped off four-straight points to regain a 2-1 sets lead. Nebraska Wesleyan used the momentum it gained in set three to get past Coe in set four. The Prairie Wolves clinched the match with a 25-18 victory with 13 kills and .237 hitting percentage.
Kate Tidman led the Kohawks with 25 kills while
Morgan Kluesner added 10.
Elli Teeple had 45 assists for Coe while
Majda Suljic had 28 digs to lead the team.
Up Next: The Kohawks host Buena Vista tomorrow, October 26 at 4 p.m. in Kohawk Arena. They face A-R-C opponent, Luther College, in their final home game of the season on October 30 at 7:30 p.m.
