Grinnell, Iowa – The Kohawks Men's Soccer team lost to Grinnell College, 2-1, in overtime Friday night.
After a scoreless 1
st period, the Kohawks got on the board first in the 2
nd period, with an unassisted goal by Freshman forward,
Andrew Russell in the 62nd minute.
The Pioneers did come back, however, with a late goal by Grinnell's Ray Goedecker assisted by Davis Provost to tie the game 1-1 and send it into overtime.
Just over three minutes into overtime, Grinnell's Goedecker scored his second goal of the night, assisted by Mikoto Kobayashi to give Coe their first loss of the season.
Freshman
Jesus Mancha was in goal net for Coe and recorded 11 saves for the night.
The Kohawks first home game of the season is Sunday, September 1
st at 1pm as they take on the Carroll University Pioneers at Clark Field.
