Cedar Rapids, Iowa – The Coe College women's soccer team battled undefeated Augustana College (Illinois) to a 1-1 draw Monday night at Clark Field.
There were no goals tallied in the first half on either side, but Augustana (4-0-1) outshot the Kohawks 8-1 in the first 45 minutes.
The scoring began halfway through the second half when the Vikings took a 1-0 lead in the 76th minute on a goal that was scored off the rebound of a blocked shot by Coe's keeper
Alex Montalbano. It wouldn't take long for Coe to answer back. Five minutes later, in the 81st minute, freshman
Amanda Hiebert continued her scoring streak with her team high sixth goal of the season, assisted by junior
Sydney Schroder.
On the night, the Kohawks mustered up seven total shots against a strong Viking defense. The Vikings had 21 shots. Hiebert led the team with 3 shots on the night.

Katelyn Evans all tallied one shot for the Kohawks.
Alex Montalbano was solid in the net for Coe, totaling eight saves on the night. Her record on the season moves to 2-1-1.
The Kohawks (4-2-1) hit the road on Saturday for showdown with the Eagles of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The Kohawks look to secure a win on the road as kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. in La Crosse.
