Box Score Cedar Rapids, Iowa - The Kohawks lost in four sets to rival Cornell College in their home opener on Wednesday night. The loss gives the Rams the first point in the battle for the Bremner Cup.
The Kohawks started strong against the Rams in the first set before the Rams made a push to comeback. With things tied at 23-23 the Rams won back to back points to take the opening set 25-23. The Kohawks bounced back with an impressive second set winning 25-19 as they took control late in the set. With the game tied at one set each it was all Cornell the rest of the way. After controlling the third set for a 25-20 win the Rams dominated the fourth set 25-15.
Coe was lead offensively by junior
Morgan Kluesner with 15 kills. Kluesner added 10 digs to record a double-double on the night. Freshmen
Kate Tidman joined Kluesner with a double-double of her own with 10 kills and 15 digs. Sophomore setter Ellie Teeple continued her double-double streak, now at 5, with 15 digs and 40 assists.

Madi Parson led the Kohawks with 18 digs and sophomore libero Madja Suljic joined her in double digits with 15 for the Coe defense.
The Kohawks will return to action on Friday as they travel to Naperville, Ill. for the North Central Invitational. Coe plays one game Friday night at 7 p.m. and two more Saturday afternoon to conclude the trip. The Kohawks next home game is the conference opener against Dubuque on Wednesday, September 18th at 7:30 p.m.
