Naperville, Ill. – Coe continued their strong play with two wins to conclude their trip to the North Central Invitational. The Kohawks defeated Rose-Hulman, 3-0, and Monmouth College, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon.
The Kohawks swept their way past the Fightin' Engineers to start the day. Coe showed an ability to win tight sets taking the first and third set 25-23. Winning the close sets lead to the sweep as the Kohawks controlled set two 25-19.
Morgan Kluesner lead Coe with 14 kills and 11 digs to record her 3rd double-double of the year.
Majda Suljic matched the team high with 11 digs of her own.
Kate Tidman added a double-double of her own with 11 kills and 10 digs for her.
Elli Teeple had 40 assists.
Coe finished the trip 3-0 with a four set win over Monmouth. The Kohawks controlled much of the game dropping just the tight third set 27-25. Coe started off strong winning the first two sets 25-16 and 25-13. After dropping the third set Coe responded with a 25-15 win to defeat the Scots.
One day after posting a career high in digs freshman
Madi Parson put down a career high 24 kills to go with 10 digs for her 5th double-double of the season. Tidman recorded her second double-double of the day and her 5th on the season. Teeple continued to pile up assists with, a season high, 53.
Coe will rest up this week before returning to action on Friday at the Knight Classic in Waverly, Iowa. The Kohawks will play three games in Waverly with the first scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday.
