CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College men's tennis team swept a pair of matches on Saturday with wins over Doane University and the University of Dubuque to open its new campaign. The Kohawks only surrendered two team points all-day, winning 7-2 over Doane while blanking the Spartans 9-0 to wrap up the perfect day. The wins move Coe to 2-0 on the year and 1-0 in league play.
Jon Lansing/Nathan Meskell opened the action in the first match with an 8-1 victory at #3 doubles as

Tyler Nelson and
Rami Hemaidan/Bo Wilson made it a perfect 3-0 for the Kohawks in doubles play. Hemaidan continued his solid day with the first victory for Coe in singles play while Lansing, Nelson and Meskell added to the Kohawk victory count and clinched the opening match.
The Kohawks dominant day continued in their opening league match, shutting out UD 9-0 to lock up the second win of the day.
Jordan Oaks/Nelson and Lansing/Wilson kicked off the match with two dominant performances in doubles play winning 8-0 and 8-1 respectively. Coe wrapped up play for the day with five singles victories from Wilson,
Adrian Savic, Nelson, Oaks, Meskell and
Sam Koeppl completing the perfect sweep in singles play.
Up Next: The Kohawks return to action on February 8 when they host Wartburg and UW-Lacrosse in a day-long doubleheader at Clark Racquet Center.
