ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Coe College women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Augustana College on Wednesday evening in its final non-conference match of the season. The Vikings scored the game's lone goal early in the second half, tallying in the 548th minute as the hosts did just enough to secure the victory. Coe managed to record seven shots in the match but only forced the Augustana keeper into one save in the match. The loss drops Coe to 2-10-1 overall and 1-3 in the A-R-C while Augustana improves to 7-5 overall.

- Augustana started the game well, recording three shots in the opening five minutes of play, forcing Alex Montalbano into an early save but the senior made the stop to keep the game scoreless.
- The Vikings continued to press early in the period, racking up five shots over the next six-plus minutes to keep the pressure on the Kohawks but a solid defensive effort kept the hosts off the board.
- Coe grew into the game and began to take control around the 15-minute mark, registering five shots before the end of the first half but the lone shot on target from Jordan Rosas was saved by the Augustana keeper.
- The hosts broke the deadlock early in the second half, getting on the score sheet in the 48th minute thanks to a goal from Maeve Sheridan who used an assist from Abby DeGustino. The Kohawks continued to fight for the remaining time in the match but shots from Mackenzie Jones and Brianna Ellsworth came up empty as the Vikings secured the victory.
Up next: The Kohawks will be back in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, October 16 when they host Nebraska Wesleyan at 11 AM at Clark Field.
