Match Facts:
  • NWU started well, registering an early shot attempt in the second minute but Alex Aguilar's shot attempt sailed wide. Just over two minutes later Coe had a shot on goal from Blake Jungman, who sent a set-piece towards the NWU goal but Ryan Rediger made the save for the Prairie Wolves.
  • Neither team recorded a shot on goal for the next 15-plus minutes but Aguilar tested the Kohawk keeper, Maxwell Twight in the 21st minute with a shot to the bottom left corner which Twight managed to reach. Coe responded well as Esaie Mososongo fired a shot on goal just three minutes later but again Rediger was up to the challenge as he kept the game scoreless. The Kohawks had four more shots on target in the opening period over the final 15-plus minutes of action but attempts from Alex White, Ammar Abu-Halawa and Zachary Mooney were saved by Rediger.
  • Nebraska Wesleyan had two early shot attempts in the second half, forcing Twight into a pair of important saves. Coe's first shot of the period came late, as Matthew Joseph had an attempt on goal which was saved by Rediger in the 78th minute. Another good chance came for the Kohawks in the 89th minute as Brayden Koch had a header attempt from a corner kick but his shot sailed wide of the goal as regulation ended.
  • Nebraska Wesleyan had the only two shots of the first overtime period as Aguilar smashed the woodwork in the 94th minute while a follow-up shot from Caleb Vos was blocked by the Kohawk defense. The Kohawks had the best chances of the second overtime period late in the frame after Colton Wever a long-range effort saved as the ball bounced around the Prairie Wolves box but Coe was unable to corral the loose ball in time for a winner.
Up next: The Kohawks are back on the pitch on Wednesday, October 20 as they host Central College in an A-R-C match scheduled for 7:30 PM.
