WAVERLY, Iowa - The Coe College women's soccer team dropped a road contest at Wartburg College on Saturday, falling 2-0 to the Knights. The teams played a scoreless first half which featured four important saves from Alex Montalbano but two goals for the Knights in the second half proved to be the difference. The loss drops the Kohawks to 2-7-1 on the year and 1-1 in the A-R-C while the Knights improve to 8-1-1 and 2-0 in league play.

• The Kohawks and Knights played a scoreless first half but Wartburg racked up 13 shots in the frame as it dominated possession. Montalbano was crucial in the first period, making four important saves for Coe as she helped keep the game scoreless. 
• Wartburg scored the game's opening goal early in the second half, tallying in the 48th minute of the frame as Rachael Christmann scored for the Knights. 
• The Knights stretched their lead just over 20 minutes later, scoring in the 71st minute as Emily Fontana netted her second goal of the season to give Wartburg an insurance goal.
• The Kohawks continued to fight for the remainder of the contest but Wartburg's defense remained solid and registered a clean sheet en route the victory. 

Up next: The squad will return to the field on Wednesday, October 6 when it travels to Luther College for an A-R-C matchup at 5:00 PM.
