CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Simpson College on Saturday evening at Clark Field. The Storm scored two first-half goals to take an early lead and added one more in the second half to get past the Kohawks.
Alex Montalbano made six important saves for the Kohawks as the Storm fired off nine shots on target. The loss drops Coe to 3-13-1 and 2-5 in the American Rivers Conference while Simpson improves to 11-5-1 overall and 5-2 in the league.

- Simpson started the game well, registering three early shots in the first ten minutes but Montalbano made saves on all three attempts to keep the game scoreless. The Storm broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute of the match as Megan Roberts scored to put the visitors up 1-0. Just under ten minutes after the initial goal, the Storm tallied again as Cassie Nash scored to push the lead to 2-0.
- Coe's lone shot of the half came in the 34th minute of the period as Lauren Dufoe fired an attempt that sailed wide for the Kohawks as they trailed 2-0 at the break.
- Simpson added to its lead early in the second half, scoring in the 53rd minute as Nash added her second of the game to put the contest out of reach for the Kohawks.
Up next: The Kohawks will be back in action on homecoming Saturday when they welcome Simpson to campus for an A-R-C match at 5 PM.
