CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College volleyball team swept Simpson College 3-0 on Saturday evening at Kohawk Arena. The Kohawks hit just .147 in the opening set but bounced back to hit above .300 in the final two periods to earn the victory.
Madi Parson and
Kate Tidman led the Kohawks in the match, posting 10 kills each while
Gracie Urbatsch added eight. Prior to the game, seniors
Majda Suljic and
Elli Teeple were honored for their contributions to Kohawk volleyball. The victory moves the Kohawks to 20-7 overall and 7-1 in the A-R-C while Simpson falls to 7-11 on the season and 4-3 in the league.
Elli Teeple guided the Kohawk offense, adding 33 assists in the match and one service ace. Defensively,
Majda Suljic led the team with 15 digs while Parson added 11 to finish with her 14th double-double of the season.

Match Facts
- Both teams started slow in the opening set, hitting below .150 in the first while combining for 14 errors but Coe pulled out a 25-20 victory to take a 1-0 lead. The Kohawks were led by Parson in the opening set as she finished with three kills while Gracie Urbatsch and Tidman added two each.
- Coe bounced back in the second set, attacking at a .30 clip while committing just three attacking errors. The Storm hit only .056 in the second period, committing eight attacking errors and three receiving errors. Tidman had a team-best six kills in the second set, hitting .417 while Urbatsch added three.
- The Kohawks were on fire again in the final set of the match, hitting .313 in the period while the Storm posted a percentage of .033. Parson led the team in set three with five kills and a .333 percentage while Grace Lueken added four kills with a .500 attacking percentage.
Up next: Coe will return to action on Friday, October 29 when it hosts Lawrence University at Kohawk Arena at 7 PM.
