CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College volleyball team swept Lawrence University on Friday evening in its final home match of the 2021 season. The Kohawks jumped out to an early lead in the match and never looked back, winning 25-13 and 25-11 in the first two sets while clinching the victory with a 25-12 victory in the third frame. The offense was scorching for Coe in the match as it posted an attack percentage of .372 while adding 11 service aces overall. The victory moves the Kohawks to 21-7 overall while Lawrence drops to 5-17 on the year.

Match Facts
- The Kohawks raced out to an early lead in the match and the opening set, taking a 10-6 lead in the period and never looking back en route to a 1-0 lead. Coe was on fire offensively, attacking at a .364 clip while registering seven aces from the service line. Majda Suljic had four aces in the set, including two straight while Kinsie Zinnel also had three in the frame.
- Coe jumped out in front early in the second period, taking a 7-3 lead to force a timeout from the visitors. The lead continued to stretch after the break as the score got pushed to 17-9 while forcing the visitors into another timeout. Coe finished the set with eight of the final nine points, cruising to a 25-11 victory while taking a 2-0 advantage.
- It was more of the same in the third set as the Kohawks ripped off a 16-3 spurt to open the match, forcing a pair of timeouts from Lawrence along the way. The Vikings clawed their way back to within nine points of the Kohawk lead but the hosts buckled down and ripped off a 7-3 spurt to end the match.
Up next: Coe will finish off the regular season tomorrow with its final two non-conference matches against Edgewood and Dominican at 11 AM and 1 PM in Rock Island, Illinois.
