CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's soccer team fell 4-0 to Dubuque on Wednesday evening at Clark Field. The Spartans scored one in the first half in the 22nd minute and added three insurance goals in the second half to secure the victory. The loss drops Coe to 0-7 while Dubuque moves to 6-3-1 on the season. 
 
It was a slow start to the opening half as the teams combined for just two shots in the opening 10 minutes of play but the Spartans began to threaten in the 12th, posting back-to-back shots which Coe keeper Alex Montalbano saved. Dubuque then opened the scoring in the 22nd minute as Brooke Brodzinski scored off an assist from Meghan Moorman. The teams played a scoreless final 20-plus minutes of the first half but the Spartans added three more in the second half as Brodzinski tallied the hat trick with one in the 53rd and one in the 70th.
 
Up next: Coe will end its 2021 spring schedule on Saturday evening when it hosts Buena Vista University at 5:00 p.m. at Clark Field.
