DECORAH, Iowa - The Coe College women's soccer team fell to Luther College 5-0 on Thursday evening at the Luther College Soccer Field. The loss drops the Kohawks to 0-4 overall and in the A-R-C while the Norse improve to 2-1 on the season and in the league. Luther recorded the first two shots of the game and scored on the third in the 11th minute to open the scoring. The Kohawks recorded the next shot of the contest and earned a corner kick during a strong spell but the Norse scored the second goal in the 24th minute as Maggie Haller scored her second of the night. Coe ended the half well with a shot attempt from Ella Weber but a save from Luther's Kennedy Bergren kept the score a 2-0 going into the break.
 
The Norse added the third goal early in the second half as Samantha Och scored in the 46th minute after an assist from Haller. Coe again threatened over the next few minutes of action, as Stephanie Naskrent recorded a shot on goal in the 58th minute but Bergren was up to the challenge. The fourth Luther goal came just thirty seconds after the Kohawk shot, as Megan Munger scored with an assist coming from Och. The final goal of the match came in the 77th minute with Allison Edgar scoring her first of the season for Luther. The Kohawks recorded the final shot of the match in the 87th minute when Teresa Knudson fired an attempt on target but Bergren made the save and secured the clean sheet. 
 
Up next: Coe will be off this weekend before returning to action next Friday evening when the Kohawks host Loras College at 5:00 p.m.
