Women’s Soccer Falls at UW-Stevens Point

STEVENS POINT, WI. - The Coe College women's soccer team fell 3-0 on the road at UW-Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon. The Pointers scored mid-way through the first half to take an early advantage and added two goals in the second half to see out the victory. Coe had three shots in the match and forced two saves from the Stevens Point goalie. The loss drops the Kohawks to 1-3-1 while UW-Stevens Point improves to 2-3.

Match Facts
  • The Pointers and Kohawks traded early shots on target as Ella Weber forced a save from the Stevens Point keeper in the 9th minute. 
  • UW-Stevens Point then put together a good stretch, testing the Kohawk keeper Alex Montalbano twice in a 15-minute stretch. The Pointers scored the opening goal in the 28th minute as Jacqueline Aleman scored off of an assist from Chiaki Vogt.
  • Both teams traded shots on goal again to start the second half but both keepers were up to the challenges. Carlin Morsch had Coe's shot on goal in the 59th minute but it was kept out by the Pointers' keeper. 
  • UWSP scored again in the 60th minute as Hannah Kroupa found the back of the net after a pass from Gabby Dunn.
  • The final goal of the game came in the 86th minute of play as Olivia Piloni sealed the deal for the Pointers. 
 
Up next: The Kohawks return the pitch on Wednesday, September 14 when they travel to UW-Platteville for a 7:00 contest.
