GRINNELL, Iowa - The Coe College women's soccer team dropped a narrow match at Grinnell College on Wednesday evening, falling 1-0 to the Pioneers. Grinnell scored early in the first half, notching the lone goal in the 13th minute off of a shot from Reese Komsthoeft. Coe continued to battle for the remainder of the contest, recording our shots on goal but the Pioneers managed to earn the clean sheet. The loss drops the Kohawks to 1-2-1 on the season while Grinnell improves to 1-1 overall.

- The Pioneers got on the board in the 13th minute of the contest, as Anna Engelhardt's pass found Reese Komsthoeft who scored past Kohawk keeper Alex Montalbano.
- Coe had a chance to tie the game just seven minutes later but a shot attempt from Ella Weber was saved by Elinor Arneson.
- Grinnell had four more shot attempts before the end of the first half, forcing Montalbano into a pair of saves but the senior shot-stopper was up to the challenge.
- The Kohawks opened the second half on the front foot, racking up three shots in the opening 20 minutes of the period.
- Coe forced two more saves from Grinnell in the 82nd and 87th minute of the game as Weber and Brianna Ellsworth tried their luck but were unable to find the back of the net.
