CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's soccer team fell 6-0 to Wartburg College on Tuesday evening at Clark Field. The Kohawks conceded a pair of early goals in the fourth and fifth minutes as the Knights took early control of the contest. Wartburg added three more goals before the end of the opening 45 minutes, grabbing a 5-0 lead at the break. The visitors quickly added another goal in the first few minutes of the second, tallying the sixth and final goal of the game in the 59th minute. Coe, which managed to create a pair of late chances, drops to 0-13-1 overall and 0-5 in the A-R-C while Wartburg improves to 12-0-2 and 4-0-1 in the league.

- The Knights built the pressure from the opening whistle, recording a pair of early shots while forcing Liana Sweezer into an early save. Wartburg took the lead just moments later, scoring the opening goal just 3:30 in. The visitors quickly added to their tally, scoring the second goal of the match less than two minutes later. Coe settled into the game after the early goals, keeping Wartburg off the score sheet for over 25 minutes while holding it to just three shots. Wartburg tallied three more goals with under 15 minutes left in the half, scoring in the 33rd, 35th and 45th minutes. The final goal of the game was scored early in the second half as the Knights made it 6-0 in the 59th. Coe continued to battle despite the uneven scoreline, creating a pair of chances for Jordan Rosas and Rebecca Allers but neither attempt found the back of the net.
Up next: The Kohawks host Buena Vista on Homecoming Saturday on October 15 at Clark Field. The game will be followed by a senior ceremony for both the women's and men's team.
