CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Coe College women's soccer team suffered a 5-0 defeat to Dubuque on Wednesday evening in an A-R-C contest. The Kohawks and Spartans played a scoreless opening period, during which, Coe kept the visitors from creating any true scoring threats. UD piled on the pressure in the second half, scoring five times in the period to claim the win. The Spartans tallied the opener in the 60th minute and added four more goals before the final whistle blew. The loss drops Coe to 0-11-1 overall and 0-3 in the league while UD improves to 4-1-6 and 1-0-2.

- Coe and Dubuque battled in the opening period which featured just six total shots. The visitors had a lion's share of the attempts, registering five shots to just one for Coe. The best scoring chance of the period came in the 30th minute when Ella Weber fired a shot from distance that grazed the top of the crossbar. Dubuque also struck the woodwork prior to the end of the first, missing out by inches in the 43rd.
- UD brought the intensity out of the break, recording three shots in the first 10-plus minutes but Liana Sweezer made a key save to keep it scoreless. The Spartans finally broke the deadlock in the 60th minute scoring the opener just 15 minutes into the period. Coe responded with a spurt of dominance, registering four shots in the seven minutes following the goal but a pair of saves from the Spartan goalie kept it 1-0. The visitors scored an insurance goal in the 72nd, making it 2-0 to create some space between the squads. UD would add three more before the end of the match, scoring in the 74th, 85th and 90th minute.
