JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Coe College women's basketball team picked up its fourth-straight win on Saturday afternoon, defeating Illinois College 73-56 at Sherman Gymnasium. The Kohawks had four players reach double digits in the win and eight different players recorded at least one basket during the game. Coe, which outscored the hosts in all four quarters, got off to a solid start with a 15-10 advantage in the opening frame. The lead was extended in the second period as Coe slightly edged the Lady Blues 16-13, taking an eight-point advantage into the half. Coe continued to cruise in the second half, outscoring Illinois College 42-33 en route to the victory.
Ellie Wisner, Kaalyn Petersen, Molly Buck and
Caydee Kirkham all reached double figures in the win with Wisner's 14 points leading the team. Petersen grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds, posting her third double-double in the previous four games. The win moves Coe to 8-3 on the season while Illinois College drops to 3-6 overall.

- Coe got off to an excellent start, scoring the first six points of the contest. Wisner scored four-quick points during the run while Petersen got her first bucket on an assist from Buck. Illinois College answered, getting two-straight buckets to make it 6-4. Coe clapped right back, using a layup from Petersen and a 3 from Meagan Harvey to grab an 11-4 advantage. Illinois College stopped the run before the end of the quarter, narrowly outscoring Coe 6-4 to trail by five after the opening period.
- The Kohawks quickly extended their lead in the opening minutes of the second, getting an 8-3 run to stretch the gap to 10. The hosts stayed alive in the game during the next few minutes, outscoring Coe 10-4 to slice the deficit to just four. Coe and Illinois College both went cold for the final three minutes of the period but the visitors scored the final four points of the frame on layups Theo Mba and Katie Wilhelmi.
- Coe pulled away immediately to start the third, putting together a 10-5 spurt in the opening four-plus minutes. The Kohakws got a pair of 3s during the run to stretch the lead with Buck and Southard cashing in from deep to make it 41-28. The teams went back-and-forth for the remainder of the third quarter, but a 3 from Southard put Coe ahead 51-35 at the end of the period.
- Illinois College continued to show fight in the final quarter, edging Coe 12-9 in the first three-plus minutes. The Kohawks put the game away for good around the six-minute mark, getting six unanswered points to restore a comfortable advantage. The Lady Blues ended the game on a strong 9-5 run but the Kohawk lead proved too large to overcome.
